Jackie Dunning asked
me to the Twirp Season activities in our sophomore year and
we were a pair until I entered the Navy after graduation.
In 1958 I married and had a loving and adventurous life
until my wife Peggy died in 2002. She left me with two
sons, four grandchildren and four great grand children.
I started teaching Art
at Rancho Alamitos High School in Garden Grove, California
in 1964 and remained in the same classroom until I retired
in1994. In 1992, I was presented the Disneyland Creative
imagination, Teacher of the Year award for Orange County
Schools. I continue to have a good relationship with many
of my ex-students today.
I lived with my family
in Newport Beach, Huntinton Beach, San Clemente, and
Ensenada Mexico where we maintained a home on the beachfront
for thirty-five years. We surfed the coast of California
and Mexico when I wasn't playing a vigorous game of tennis.
Summers gave us time to travel to many foreign countries and
making many good loyal friends that have been a treasure to
me.
Fifty years after I
last saw Jackie Dunning, we attended the Fiftieth Reunion of
the SBHS class of '53 together and We were married February
20,2004. We reside here in Oak Run, Northern California on
a small ranch with all the work and wild life we need for
one last loving and adventurous life together. |
